Thomas W. Shilling

Thomas W. Shilling, 41, of Dublin, Ohio and formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2021 at his residence.

Born in Dover, he was the son of Thomas G. and Gerda (Kren) Shilling of New Philadelphia and a 1997 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Tom continued his education and received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kent State University. He was currently employed as a Tax Specialist with the Internal Revenue Service in Columbus, Ohio.

Tom loved doing many things, but his favorite was scuba diving with his best friend, Robbie Minard. Tom was accredited as a Master Diver. In addition, he loved to travel with his friends Rob and Brett. He has recently enjoyed using his “handyman” skills to remodel his home in Dublin.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Aaron Fockler of Dover, his favorite niece, Belle Fockler , his uncle John Kren, his girlfriend, Jessica Henry and her son, Hayden Henry of Dublin and Tom’s dog Madix.

In keeping with Thomas’s wishes, a private family visitation and service will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia.
