Shirley J. Stewart

Retired Lorain teacher Shirley J. Stewart, 71, of Anchor Lodge Retirement Village in Lorain died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at Anchor Lodge.

Born Jan. 5, 1950, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late M. Lee and Jennie M. (nee Wolfe) Stewart.

Shirley was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School and Kent State University where she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. She spent her teaching career at Southview High School in Lorain, retiring in 2002.

She is survived by her sister, Sandra S. Stewart of New Philadelphia, and several cousins.

Per Shirley’s wishes, no services or calling hours will be held. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.
