Mark B. Mansill, 55, of Sherrodsville, passed away yesterday, March 11, 2021 at his residence, doing what he loved.
Born in Dover, he was the son of the late Bart F. and Lois (Oppy) Mansill and a graduate of Tuscarawas Valley High School and Kent State University where he received a bachelors degree in Accounting. Mark was currently employed at Rural King in New Philadelphia as an Assistant Store Manager.
Mark loved doing many things and was at home being outdoors. Whether it was cutting down trees and splitting firewood on his property, to stacking rocks while playing in “his mountain stream” in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. He was a wonderful father to not only his daughter but to other people, who were not his children. He was a role model, a mentor a good listener and would offer great advice to those that would seek him out.
On June 15, 1991, Mark married Diann M. (Wilcoxon) Mansill and together shared over 29 years or marriage. In addition to his wife, Mark is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Katherine (Dustin) Swart of Newark; his faithful dog, and companion, Georgia; his mother-in-law, three sisters-in-law and their husbands; numerous nephews and a great-nephew.
Friends are invited to call on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. A private family service will be conducted with Pastor Brian Flood officiating and burial will be in New Cumberland Cemetery at New Cumberland.
It is the family’s wish that memorial contributions, to honor Mark’s memory, be made to the Tuscarawas County 4-H, c/o OSU Extension Office, 419 16th Street SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
At this time, the 6-foot rule will be honored and all guests are required to wear a mask to enter the funeral home. For the safety of everyone, and to allow other guests to pay their respects, we politely ask that visitors who do not intend to stay for the service, to not linger in the funeral home and to promptly exit the building after greeting the family.
