Zora C. Sims, 82, of New Philadelphia, died while visiting her daughter in Jacksonville, Arkansas, Wednesday August 13, 2003. Born in Magnolia, April 30, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Silas Elmer and Catherine Marie Luthy McKinney. Zora attended New Philadelphia High School before she married Chester A. Sims, who preceded her in death in 1972. She retired from Sparta Ceramic Tile Co, and had previously worked for Alsco of Sugarcreek. Survivors include three daughters, Marlene (Joe) Setvin and Anna Marie Sims of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Katie (Gerald) Stout of Dover; three sons, John (Deloras) Sims of Jacksonville, AR, Kenneth (Mary) Carroll of New Philadelphia, and James (Diane) Sims of Midvale; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence (Arthur) Crilley and Betty (James) Naus, all of Dover, and a brother, Lowell (Carolyn) McKinney of Mineral City. In addition to her parents and husband, a daughter, Margaret Smart; a sister, Emma Smith; and a brother Frederick McKinney precede her in death. At Zora’s request, immediate cremation has taken place. A memorial service, in the church where she was raised, will be held this Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 10:30 AM in the Good Hope Lutheran Church, 3359 New Zoarville Road, Zoarville, OH. Rev. Marvin Ritterling will officiate. Burial in her family plot will follow at Zoar Cemetery.
