Yvonne Kay Evans

Yvonne Kay Evans, 87, of Dover, died Monday, January 24, 2022, while in the care of Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late John and Ruby (Kindschy) Lesselyong, Kay was born in in Malta, Montana on January 18, 1935.

Kay married Blaine Evans on December 29, 1954. Blaine and Kay relocated to Killbuck, Ohio, in 1955 where they raised their three children, Vicki, Eric and Tami.

Kay retired from Sprint serving as the office manager. After relocating to New Philadelphia, Kay began to volunteer with Community Hospice in their finance office. She made many friends working at Hospice and enjoyed the cookie tray at the Truman House. She was also a member of Faith Christian Church at New Philadelphia. Kay had a passion for traveling, especially by way of their R.V., and enjoyed taking in the sights with Blaine.

She is survived by her children, Vicki Evans of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Eric (Nancy) Evans of Georgetown, Delaware and Tami (Greg) McIntyre of Dover; her grandchildren, Ethan, Aaron, Travis, Nicole, Shane, Charles, Ryan and Nate (Gabby); her great-grandchildren, Liona, Ruby and Maddy; her brother John J. (Marsha) Lesselyong, as well as by many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her husband in August of 2013.

Friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1:00pm at Faith Christian Church, 2012 Pleasant Valley Rd NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663. In keeping with Kay’s wishes cremation will take place through the care of Linn-Hert-Geib’s Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia.
