Yong Cha Chang, age 53, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, November 1, 2014, in University Hospital at Cleveland following a sudden illness.
Born at Seoul, Korea on January 7, 1961, Yong Cha was a daughter of the late Man Pok Chang and Kasson Yu.
She graduated from Jonk Hwak High School and began working for the Korean Times prior to immigrating to the United States in 1987.
She was an avid reader of the Bible, enjoyed caring for her family, cooking and watching Korean Dramas. For the past four years, Yong Cha has been employed by Shearer Foods at Brewster.
Yong Cha is survived by her children, Vincent Ruegsegger of Portage Lakes, and Laura Ruegsegger of Columbus; five siblings, Soonam, Yong Sik, Yong Hui, Chong Hui, Choon Sik, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will greet guests on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, from 4:00 – 5:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Pastor Dae Hwan Sul will lead a service in the funeral home’s chapel at 5:00 PM. Cremation will follow services with burial to take place at a later date in her native Korea.
