Woneta M. “Skeet” Quillen

Woneta M. “Skeet” Quillen, age 90, a life-long Midvale resident died early Friday, March 09, 2018 in Park Village South at New Philadelphia.

Born at Midvale on June 27, 1927, Woneta was a daughter of the late George Wilson and Myrtle (Waltz) Wilson-Haver.

She attended School at Midvale and during World War, II worked at the Midvale Brickyard. She later was employed by and retired from the former Hart’s Big Bear at New Philadelphia where she was a Meat Department Clerk.

Woneta enjoyed being with her family, spending time with her sisters, supporting her children and grandson at motocross races, attending country music shows and dancing. She also cared for many elderly individuals in her retirement.

She leaves behind her children, two daughters, Diane (Jesse) Denslow of New Philadelphia, and Karen (Les Baer) Foutz of Illinois; three sons, Roy (Lola) Quillen of Sutton, West Virginia, Greg (Laurie) Quillen, and Hugh “Jeff” (Jannene) Quillen all of Dennison; her grandchildren, Kyle (Samantha) Quillen, Kristee Quillen, J.D. (Mara) Quillen, Janay (Mike) Myers, Todd (Sue) Foutz, Michelle Denslow, Mike Denslow, Craig Quillen, Kenny Quillen, and Shannon (Ricky) Twardosky; 10 great and 9 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Vera Wilson of Midvale and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Woneta was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary King, Betty Creiger, Margaret Colletti, George Wilson and Donald Waltz; and her companion, Charles “Bill” Campbell.

In keeping with Woneta’s wishes, private services will be held. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.
