Wilma Swaldo

A. Wilma Swaldo, 86, formerly of New Philadelphia passed away June 17, 2017 at Middleton Assisted Living in Granville, Ohio.

Born in New Philadelphia on April 8, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Tornabene) Alfonso.

After graduating from St. Joseph High School in 1949, Wilma worked as a secretary with General Telephone Company.

On April 30, 1960, she married her lifelong companion, William “Bill” Swaldo. Together they were members of Sacred Heart Church.

In addition to Bill; she will be deeply missed by her children, Beth (Richard) Green of Pataskala and Brian Swaldo, of Lima; her grandsons, Ryan (Heather), Nick, and Mitchel Green; and her brother, David (Rose) Alfonso of California.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12 to 1 p.m.  Father Jeff Coning will officiate a service in the funeral home chapel beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
