Wilma Katherine Cook, 87, of Dover died Saturday, August 4, 2007 in Country Club Retirement Center at Dover.Born September 6, 1919 in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Alphonzo and Ona (Gundy) Renicker.After graduating from New Philadelphia High School, she began her professional career as a nurse’s aid, most recently working for Nightengale Nursing Home in Uhrichsville before her retirement. She also worked at Twin City Hospital, Union Hospital and in the private sector throughout her career.Wilma enjoyed feeding the birds and working puzzles. She was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville.Wilma is survived by three daughters, Norma Haney of New Philadelphia, Barbara (Dennis) Huffman of Cincinnati, and Rene “Kay” Hampton of Columbus; grandchildren, Cindy (Mark) Schwarm, Jeff (Pleshette) Haney and Justin Huffman; one great-grandson and two step-great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Cook in 1996, three sisters and one brother.Visitation will be held Monday, August 6, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Wilma’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday beginning at 10:30 a.m. with The Rev. Marlene Peterson officiating. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street Dover, OH 44622.
