William W. Seabrook, 89, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, April 14, 2003 at Aultman Hospital in Canton following a brief illness.Born in New Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles and Annie Broadhurst Seabrook and was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School. He had retired from the former I.F. Manufacturing where he had worked as a foundry worker and was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia. Bill was a longtime member of the New Philadelphia Elks and was an avid golfer and rabbit hunter. He loved spending time gardening and playing cards at the Elks.His wife, Ellen Virginia Seabrook, whom he married June 28, 1935, preceded him in death December 17, 1991. Surviving are three sons, Jerry L (Shirley) Seabrook of Wadsworth, David W. (Jeannette) Seabrook of New Philadelphia and Steve C. (Ellen) Seabrook of New Philadelphia; a daughter, Ellen (Raymond) Rank of New Philadelphia; a brother, Charles Seabrook of White Cloud, Michigan; a sister, Adella Onstead of Newcomerstown; nine grandchildren, Mary Ellen Padro, Becky Allison, Beth Ann Seabrook, Michael A. Seabrook, Stephen D. Seabrook, Kristen Preston, Jonathan Jones, Tish Kwiatkowski and Emily Rank and five great grandchildren, Kathy and Megan Allison, Carie and David Padro and Joshua Kwiatkowski. An infant son, a brother, Byron Seabrook and a sister Joy Seabrook are also deceased.Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 10:30 AM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with Rev. Jon McCleery officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2003 from 6 to 9 PM in the funeral home. Elk’s services will be held Wednesday evening at 5:30 PM. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Broadway United Methodist Church, 120 Church Street SE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
