William Terry Barkheimer

William Terry Barkheimer, 54, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, April 18, 2008 in his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.Terry was born February 12, 1954, at Dover, to the late William Henry and Dorothy Christine Ohler Barkheimer, and was a life residence of Tuscarawas County.He will be remembered by family and friends as a strong worker and family supporter. Terry was honorably discharged from the United States Army, enjoyed fishing, and hunting mushrooms and was an accomplished woodworker.He had been employed by Graphic Packaging International of New Philadelphia since 1992 and had worked for the former Kopp Clay Company at Mineral City. He was a member of local 0-1974 of the United Steelworkers.He will be greatly missed by his wife, Karla Haynes Barkheimer, whom he married September 10, 1980; his children, William James (Amber) Barkheimer, of Dover, Chloa Mae Barkheimer and Joey Earl Barkheimer, both of New Philadelphia; sisters, Sherry Locker, of Dover and Gloria (Terry) Newsome, of Bolivar; a brother, Raymond (Libby) Barkheimer, of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Desiree, Brock, Darron, Zoe and Lance and his beloved dog, George.Visitation will be Tuesday, April 22, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover where the New Philadelphia VFW will conduct military honors.
