William Steven Mani

William Steven Mani, 57, of New Philadelphia passed away Thursday evening, June 13, 2013, in his home surrounded by his loving family following a period of declining health.

Born in Millersburg on June 19, 1955, he was the son of Carl H. Mani and the late Maxine M. (Moomaw) Mani.

After graduation from Garaway High School in 1973, Bill spent his professional career as an automobile mechanic. He has been employed with Greg’s Towing for the majority of his professional career.
In addition to his stellar mechanical talents, Bill was an avid NASCAR and NHRA fan.

He leaves behind his wife, the former Valerie S. “Val” Brown, whom he wed March 28, 1987; his children, Tara, Rachel, Rhet, and Scarlet Mani, all of the home; his siblings, Gregory (Morena) Mani of San Diego and Beth (Sam) Peppers of Columbus; his father and mother-in-law, Tom and Sue Brown of New Philadelphia; three brothers-in-law, Tom (Deb) Brown of Sugarcreek, Jeff Brown of South Carolina, and Steve Brown of Strasburg; his sister-in-law, Cathy Ross of New Philadelphia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, Bill was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Portia Marie Mani.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church on Monday beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek.

Friends are invited to St. Ambrose Hall, located beside Sacred Heart Church, where their church family will host a meal following the committal service.
