William Robert Edwards

William Robert Edwards, 84, a lifetime resident of New Philadelphia, died Thursday afternoon, January 11, 2007, in Hennis Care Centre at Dover.A son of the late Raymond and Edna Rodd Edwards, Bob was born on February 4, 1922, in New Philadelphia. Bob followed in his fathers footsteps and worked in the coal mines for over forty years.In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by sisters, Thelma Haines, June Weber; sisters-in-law, Eva Edwards, Iva Edwards; and nephew Phillip Edwards.He is survived by his sister, Mary Jane (Roland) Kohl of Dover; brothers, Russell (Jackie) Edwards of New Philadelphia, Paul (Dorothy) Edwards of Cook, Minnesota, Glenn (Bobbi) Edwards of Pasadena, Texas, Richard (Jan) Edwards of Hobe Sound, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be led by Rev. Brian Flood on Monday, January 15, 2007, 11:00 am in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.Memorial contributions may be made to Mobile Meals, 659 Boulevard, Dover, Ohio 44622.
