William C. Richesson, age 62, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, August 22, 2008, in Country Club Retirement Center at Dover.A son of the late Woodrow and Mary Ann Gocek Richesson, Bill was born on August 10, 1946, at Canton, Ohio.A 1964 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, Bill remained a faithful Quaker supporter his entire life. Beyond the Quakers, life for Bill centered on football. For more than fifteen years he coached the Oilers for the New Phila Pee-Wee Football League. Many of those seasons ended in victory as they were awarded a shot at becoming Super-Bowl Champs.Additionally, Bill worked as a Civil Draftsman for the W.E. Quicksall Company of New Philadelphia for over 30 years. For some years following, Bill worked for the city of New Philadelphia as a Building Inspector.His calm temperament allowed for him to be a gentle caring person who was devoted to his family. Bill leaves behind his wife of more than 40 years, the former Rebecca Ann Young, whom he married on December 26, 1966. Also surviving are two loving children, Julie (Timothy) Altier of Dover and Mark (Kim) Richesson of Havelock, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Kyla and Abby Richesson; and a brother, Edward (Mary Louise) Richesson of Bolivar.A sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jo and Tim Burris of Dover as well as 2 nieces and 2 nephews and one great-niece complete the family.In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by one sister.The family will receive friends on Monday, August 25, 2008, from 2:00 â?? 4:00 PM and 6:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Rev. Dr. Steven Bailey will lead a service celebrating Bill’s life on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.Those unable to attend are invited to share condolences with the family by visiting the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.Being that youth league football was an important activity in Bill’s life his family requests that in lieu of flowers donations in his memory be made to the New Philadelphia Pee-Wee Football League, 5267 Angel Valley Road, Stone Creek, Ohio 43840.
