William L. “Bill” Brink, 73, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, August 6, 2010 in Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health.A son of the late Albert E. Brink Sr. and the late Ada (Roberts) Brink, Bill was born September 15, 1936 at Meadville, Pennsylvania.Bill was a 1954 graduate of Cambridge Springs High School. He then continued his education at Allegheny Wesleyan College earning a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education.On August 5, 1995, Bill married Judith K. Turcott in North Carolina. Bill’s career as a minister led him to serve underprivileged, neglected and abused children in many different communities before he and Judith settled in New Philadelphia.Bill was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening and his belief was no garden was ever big enough.He is survived by his wife, Judith Brink of the home; his children, Charmaine (Ronald) Smith of Austinburg, Ohio, Debbie Brink-Rimi of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Dale (Cindy) Brink of Goodview, Virginia, Molly (Alan) Weierman of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Mark (Marlene) Brink of Massillon, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; seven step children, 12 step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte (Scott) Davis of Meadville, Pennsylvania and a brother, Theodore (Nancy) Brink of Erie, Pennsylvania.Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Brink, Jr.; two sisters, Gloria Mook and Joanne Adsit and a brother, Albert Brink, Jr.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Bill’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with his dear friend, Rev. Robert England officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.Contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622 or to Southeastern Military Academy, 638 SW Biltmore Street, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983.
