William James Goudy

William J. Goudy, 83, of Roswell, passed away Friday, September 26, 2003 at his residence.Born July 11, 1920 to the late Wellington Goudy and the former Sarah Pearl, he was a lifelong resident of Tuscarawas County. He attended New Philadelphia High School and went on to honorably serve his country in the Army during WWII. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart. After his service, he joined the working force as a machinist and retired from Shenango-Penn Mold Company of Dover.Bill will long be remembered as a loving and passionate father and grandfather and as a devoted husband of more than 65 years. He was also an avid sports enthusiast.He will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Frances Ann Kornish; two daughters, Jo Ann Chapple of Nashville, TN and Carol Roy of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Scott Chapple of Nashville and Julie and David Roy of Cincinnati; a brother and sister, Wellington Â?Bud’ Goudy and Nancy Collingsworth, both of New Philadelphia; and his dear sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Josephine and Ivor Lab of Dover.Private services will be held for Bill at a later date.For those wishing to express their love and appreciation for Bill, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to The Parkinson’s Disease Association, 710 W. 168th St., New York, NY 10032.
