William James Barkheimer, age 36, of Dover, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, in Akron General Hospital. A son of Phyllis (Hal) Holshoy of North Canton and the late William Terry Barkheimer, Billy, as he was known to his family and friends was born at Dover, Ohio on July 30, 1974.He attended New Philadelphia High School and entered in the welding supply field. For the past 20 years, Billy has held employment with Holshoy Welding, General Welding and was currently employed by Gemstone Welding supply store at New Philadelphia.As a young boy, Billy enjoyed skate boarding but as he grew older his interests and hobbies changed. He became an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed deer hunting, mushroom hunting, fishing at Atwood Lake, and keeping his lawn and flower gardens around his house in perfect order. Additionally, Billy enjoyed woodworking often making beautiful pieces of furniture or special keepsakes for his family. He also enjoyed spending time with his canine companions Nahola and Moufassa.In addition to his mother and step-father, Billy will be missed by his wife, the former Amber Pearch, whom he married on July 30, 2004; two sons, Brock and Lance Barkheimer of Strasburg; three step-children, Desiree, Darron, and Zoe; two brothers, Scott Burkhart and Joey Barkheimer; a sister, Chloa Barkheimer; a step-mother, Karla Barkheimer all of New Philadelphia; a grandfather, Richard Cropper of Navarre and a great-grandmother, Janet L. Class of Dover.Completing the family are a mother-in-law, Deborah McDade of Dover; a father-in-law, Rod Pearch of New Philadelphia, and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his father, Billy was preceded in death by his step- father-in-law, Richard McDade; his paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother.The family will receive friends on Friday, June 17, 2011 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Cremation will be cared for through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.The family requests memorial contributions in Billy’s name are directed to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
