William G. “Bill” Lingo, 93, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, October 5, 2008 in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.A son of the late John and Norma (Geer) Lingo, Bill was born August, 16, 1915 at Holloway, Ohio.Bill graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1934 and he served his country in the United States Army during World War II. In 1974, Bill retired from Marlite where he worked as a Machinist.He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia. Bill was an avid photographer who enjoyed taking photos of anything that moved slow enough to capture on film.He is survived by his children, Cheryl (John) Angeloni of New Philadelphia, John Lingo of Michigan and William (Mary) Lingo of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Nicholas Angeloni and Eric and Heather Lingo and his step grandchildren, Ben, Rachel and Joe Korns.In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Donna (Now) Lingo, whom he married on August 23, 1952.Family and friends may call on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Bill’s life will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Dr. Rev. Steve Bailey officiating.
