William E. Erwin, age 80, of New Philadelphia died Friday, March 25, 2005, at his home surrounded by his family. Born at New Philadelphia, July 31, 1924, he was a son of the late Russell E. Erwin and Agnes Hay Erwin.Bill graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1942 and entered the U.S. Army in March of 1943. He served in the Pacific theatre during WW II. After his discharge he returned to New Philadelphia and worked as a casting Engineer for the former I.F. Manufacturing Company, a division of Ridge Tool. He married his wife Ramona Reese on April 6, 1974. He was a member of the Dover V.F.W.In Addition to his wife Ramona he is survived by two Daughters, Susann K. Erwin of Midvale, Sherry Buehler, of New Philadelphia; two sons, Scott D. (Phyllis) Erwin of Ashland, O. and Steve (Teresa) Erwin of Denver Co.; one step-daughter, Candi R. (Jesse) James of Bolivar; and two step sons, Edward J. (Wendy) Marinelli of New Phila, O. and John A. (Bonnie) Marinelli of DeBary, Fl. He also is survived by six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Tschudy Erwin, one sister, and three brothers.Friends may call Tuesday March 29th from 5 to 8 P.M in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Funeral services in the funeral homes chapel will begin at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday March 30th .
