William E. “Bill” Meek, 74, of Beach City Airport, died in Mercy Medical Center on April 1, 2016.
Born in Dennison on January 12, 1942, he was the son of the late George S. and Oshie (Roup) Meek.
After graduating from Midvale High School in 1960, Bill worked for 48 years at the former Joy Manufacturing.
Bill had his private pilot license for more than 50 years. He enjoyed flying his plane and was a life member of the AOPA and EAA. Bill also was an avid NASCAR fan, following Dale Earnhardt Sr. throughout his career.
He is survived by his children, Robin (Todd) Altier of Dover, Craig (Tiffany) Meek of New Philadelphia, and Kyle Meek of Dover; his grandchildren, Alexis and Spencer Altier, Morgan Colletti, and Branden Wallick; great-granddaughter, Ava; and his sister, Joyce (Mark) Rennicker of Dover.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny; and two infant brothers, Bernard James and Paul Joseph Meek.
Visitation will be held Monday from 12 to 1 in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Burial will immediately follow in Evergreen Burial Park.
