William David Burns

William David Burns, 71, of Uhrichsville, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio following a brief illness.

A son the late Ralph and Jessie (Harmon) Burns, Bill was born on April 27, 1941 at Uhrichsville, Ohio.

Bill graduated from Uhrichsville High School and was retired from Ruger Equipment at Uhrichsville.

He will be remembered not only as being a devoted and loving husband and father but also as a devoted and loving grandpa and great grandpa. He loved watching his grandchildren and great grandson play sports. He also enjoyed attending car shows with his 1978 El Camino and meeting and talking to friends.

Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Arlinda Faye (Parker) Burns of the home. He will also be sadly missed by his two daughters, Melinda (Mark) Hamilton and Lisa (Eddie) Willis both of Uhrichsville; three grandchildren, Josh (Jess) Link and Kyle and Kayla Willis all of Uhrichsville; five great grandchildren, Dylan, Liberty and Maddie Link and Gabby and Ellie Short; two brothers, Bobbie Burns of Florida and Jack Burns of Akron and a sister, Sue (Dave) Smith of Uhrichsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eugene Berkshire and Donald Burns and four sisters, Lois Heter, June Bunch, Jeannine Burns and Kay Grey.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A private graveside service will be held in Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville at a later date.
