William D. Cox

William D. Cox, 69, of Uhrichsville, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 at his home following a lengthy illness.A son of the late Byron and Dorothy (Millinger) Cox, William was born March 15, 1938 at Bowerston, Ohio.A graduate of Scio High School, William retired from Blue Circle at Atlanta, Georgia in 2000 where he worked as a mechanic for 22 years.William was a member of Grace United Methodist Church at Uhrichsville and he was an avid fisherman.He is survived by two daughters, LuRae (Tracy Russell) Elmore of Sherrodsville and Tracy (Jamie) Hidey of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Byron Elmore, Jessica, Chelsea, Taylor, Trever, Hunter Russell, Kristin (Devin) Elifritz and Billy McLandsborough and one great grandchild on the way; one sister, Bonnie (Edie) Edwards of Scio; his former wife and best friend, Patricia Cox of Sherrodsville; two nephews, Kaci (Cris) Edwards and Barney Edwards and a great niece, Brea Edwards.William was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Billy Cox.In keeping with William’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services held and cremation will take place in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence and view and online memorial by visiting the funeral home website.
