William David Connelly

William David Connelly, age 73, of New Philadelphia passed to his Heavenly home on Thursday, August 31, 2023, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital.

He was a member of First United Methodist in New Philadelphia.

Born on March 28, 1950, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada he was the son of William Argyle and Lorna (Withers) Connelly.

Dave graduated from Akron University in 1976. He worked for PPG and did Architecture and Construction. He and Joan then spent 30 of their 54 years in Florida. He worked for Disney World as an Imagineer and thoroughly loved his work. Recently relocated to New Philadelphia which was his favorite place he had lived growing up.

He enjoyed his Ireland trips and he and Joan went on many Disney Cruises.

He was a golfer, and one Ireland trip was golfing with friends. His 2020 Corvette was his passion and was a member of Classic Corvette that met at Ferris.

Dave is survived by his loving wife Joan (Wells) Connelly, whom he married on May 19, 1969, and wonderful son, Marc David Connelly, numerous nieces, and nephews, and kitty, Dusty.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Linda Dianne Connelly.

In keeping with Dave’s wishes, cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory.
