William C. Huffman

January 17, 1937 — September 10, 2012

William C. Huffman, age 75, formerly of the Atwood Lake Region, and most recently of the Dover-New Philadelphia area, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a brief illness.

A son of the late Lester and Jenny (Myers) Huffman, Bill, as he was known to family and friends, was born at Uhrichsville, Ohio on January 17, 1937.

He was a graduate of the former Uhrichsville High School and entered the United States Army where he proudly served his Country for a number of years prior to joining the Ford Motor Company. Throughout his tenure with Ford, Bill was employed at the Brook Park Plant where he worked as a vehicle assemblyman.

In his free time, Bill enjoyed working in his yard, traveling, boating at Atwood Lake, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Huffman; a son, William (Cheryl) Huffman, Jr. of the Chicago, Illinois, area; a daughter, Lynn Burner of New Philadelphia; step-children, Susan, Chuck and David Nagorski all of Columbus; a brother, Harry “Pete” (Ella) Huffman of Arizona and a sister, Cindy (Leon) Oullette of West Lake, Ohio. Other survivors include numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Huffman and a son-in-law, Edward Burner.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care will be conducted through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover. Private graveside services will be planned for a later date.
