In Loving Memory of William “Bill” Paul Pease 

Bill, age 78, of Dover, Ohio a beloved husband, dedicated father, cherished grandfather, and esteemed veteran, departed this world on March 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service. His unexpected passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. 

Born in the family home in New Philadelphia on October 2, 1945, Bill lived a life marked by courage, compassion, and an irrepressible sense of humor. As a dedicated member of the military, he served his country with honor and distinction as an Army Ranger in Vietnam, embodying the values of duty, honor, and sacrifice.  

He was a graduate of Dover High School and spent the majority of his working career with Joy Manufacturing/ Howden-Buffalo where he worked as an inspector and also served as the Union President. 

Bill was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 33 years, Barbara “Barb”. Together, they weathered life’s storms with grace, humor, and an unwavering commitment to each other. As dedicated parents, they treasured their relationships with their children and step-children.  

Bill found immense joy in the presence of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren whom he cherished with all his heart. He was their source of laughter, wisdom, and endless affection, creating treasured memories for generations to come. His love for them knew no bounds, and his absence will be deeply felt in their lives. 

Bill will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious laughter, and warm smile that could light up a room. He had a knack for finding humor in even the most challenging situations, bringing joy to those around him and leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bill lived life to the fullest. He was an avid fisherman, never missed coffee at the VFW, loved camping and boating, and treasured his post-retirement RV trips with Barb.   

Bill is survived by his loving wife Barb, his children and step-children, Shelley Pease, Wendy Pease, Kristen Pease, Brenda Freeman (Scott), and Mark Ruby (Billie), his adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a community of friends whose lives were touched by his presence. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Therma Pease, and his siblings, Ruth, Mae, Helen, Ernest, and Charles. 

The family will greet guests on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. A celebration of Bill’s life will be led by Pastor Jeff Matthews on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 11 AM in the funeral home’s chapel where family and friends will come together to honor his memory and share stories of his life. Following the service members of the Carl C. Stoller Post 1445, New Philadelphia VFW will render military honors. 

In honoring Bill’s Lifetime Membership of the Carl C. Stoller Post 1445 of the New Philadelphia VFW donations may be directed to the post at: 441 Park Avenue NW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663. 

Though Bill may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and will be forever remembered.
