William Allen “Wilber” Dingey, 52, of Strasburg, died Friday, November 12, 2010 in Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia following a courageous battle with cancer.A son of Lenora (Stern) Pasco and the late James Dingey, Wilber was born February 18, 1958 at Bellaire, Ohio.Wilber was a 1976 graduate of Buckeye West High School and on October 12, 1976 he enlisted in the United States Army. Wilber served his country with distinction until he was honorably discharge on October 14, 1980. He was formerly employed at Meteor Sealing Systems at Dover.He is survived by his longtime soul mate and wife, Michelle (Burris) Dingey, whom he recently married on July 15, 2010; his mother and step-father, Lenora and Ted Pasco of San Antonio, Texas; a step-daughter, April Glidden of Martins Ferry, Ohio; his grandchildren, Michael and Lillianna Glidden; a brother, James “Michael” (Raelene) Dingey of Strasburg; a sister, Cathleen “Kitty” Richards of Martins Ferry, Ohio and two nieces, Rhiannon Dingey and Sami Burrell.Wilber was preceded in death by his father in 1982 and a brother, John Dingey in 1998.The family will receive guests on Monday, November 15, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral service celebrating Wilber’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Geib Funeral Center. A memorial reception will follow the in the Hospitality Room in the funeral home. Burial will then follow in Holly Memorial Gardens at Colerain, Ohio.Contributions may be made in Wilber’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406.
