Willard R Chaney, 82, of Barnhill died Thursday, February 16, 2006, after a lengthy illness in Hennis Care & Assisted Living Center at Bolivar, O.A son of the late Henry and Rebecca Rennicker Chaney, Willard was born June 16, 1923 at Warren Twp., O. He married his late wife Juanita Seldenright on April 7, 1947. He served in the United States Army during WW II. After his return his working career included U.S. Concrete at Goshen, Whitacre-Greer at Midvale and Schwab Industries at Dover. A Methodist by faith he was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Willard enjoyed his free time in the outdoors, farming, and working in the yard and garden.Willard is survived by two daughters, Linda Chaney of Canton and Donna (Richard) Rainsberg of New Phila; one daughter-in-law Connie Chaney of Sugarcreek; one sister-in-law Phyllis Chaney of Midvale; four grandchildren Stephen (Stephanie) Chaney of Sherrodsville, Christopher (Kelly) Chaney of Sandyville, Brian Chaney of North Carolina and John Lake III of New Phila and three great- grandchildren Courtney, Zachary and John Chaney. Willard also held a special place in his heart for brother-in-law Dan Seldenright and his wife Sue and sister-in-law Shirley Seldenright.In addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by a daughter Joan Chaney, one son Willard R. Chaney II; one granddaughter Ashli Rene Lake; one brother Robert H. Chaney; one sister Georgia Allen and one infant sister.Visitation will be Monday, February 20, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Joel Adkins officiating.
