Wilbur H. Hall, age 82, of Strasburg died early Thursday morning at Hennis Care Centre.Mr. Hall, who was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Strasburg, was born in Dundee, Ohio on March 26, 1922. He was a son of the late Walter J. and Carrie (Limbacher) Hall.Mr. Hall retired from the Tyson Roller Bearing Company in Massillon, Ohio where he worked as a machine operator.Wilbur was a 1941 graduate of Dover High School. He then enlisted with the United States Navy on November 19, 1942. While in the U.S. Navy he served on two Destroyers; the U.S.S. Lansdale in the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea before being sunk and then he served aboard the U.S.S. Jones in the Pacific.Wilbur is survived by his wife, Bernice (Rentsch) Hall, whom he married on July 28, 1946. He is also survived by four son’s: Richard (Jan) Hall of Worthington, Rev. Ronald (Carrie)Hall of Newark, Dr. Thomas (Beth) Hall of Newark and Kevin Hall of Pensacola, Florida. Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One sister Mrs. Don (Mary) Rockenfelder of Strasburg and one brother, Russell Hall of Colorado.A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, June 28, 2004 at the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Strasburg with Rev. Gerald Schuessler officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 27, 2004 from 1:00 to 2:00PM at the church and again on Monday one hour prior to the service. Following the service, inurnment will be held at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg where military services will conducted by the Dover V.F.W. Post #3463. The family requests that instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622 or St John’s United Church of Christ, 516 North Wooster Avenue, Strasburg, OH 44680 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4815 Munson Street NW, Canton, OH 44718
