Wilbert “Dom” Edgar Zurcher, 88, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, February 12, 2005, at Union Hospital following a lengthy illness.A son of the late Wilbert and Florence (Page) Zurcher, Wilbert was born July 27, 1916 in Barnhill, Ohio.He retired from the Roanoke Belden Brick Plant in 1982. He repaired lawn mowers after his retirement and he enjoyed playing cards as well as fishing.Wilbert is survived by his loving wife, Delores Jane (Jackson) Zurcher, whom he married April 26, 1941; two sons, Jerry (Charlene) Zurcher of Dover and Earl Dean (Suzy) Zurcher of Parkersburg, West Virginia; grandchildren, Kenny Zurcher and Deana (Jeff) Burkey both of Parkersburg, West Virginia; great-grandchildren, Zayla Paige Smith of Parkersburg, West Virginia and Brianna Zurcher of Paris, Illinois, one sister, Alice Colvin of Uhrichsville; and one brother-in-law, Ray Rennicker of New Philadelphia.He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Wilma Weaver, who was Wilbert’s twin, Opal Caldwell and Nellie Rennicker; and two brothers, Earl “Pat” Zurcher and Alvin “Spike” Zurcher. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 15, 2005, from 6-8p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. Services will be conducted by Pastor Larry Fletcher on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at 10:30am in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.
