Wendy R. Carpenter, age 58 of Stone Creek, died Thursday, January 16, 2014 in Union Hospital at Dover following a lengthy illness.
A daughter of Janet and Max Immel of Dover, Wendy was born in Union Hospital on June 17, 1955.
A 1974 graduate of Dover High School, Wendy worked at Genie Garage Door at Baltic for more than 20 years prior to her illness. She was also the former owner of Country Tanning at Stone Creek.
Wendy had numerous passions in life that included walking, dancing, spending time with her family and grandchildren and keeping as busy as possible. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her close friends, Ruth Kinsey, Shelly Cox, and Elsie Belt.
In addition to her mother and step-father, Wendy is survived by a daughter, Christina Elliott of Stone Creek; grandchildren Seth Elliott and Sage Elliott-Moss; siblings, Debbie Sherlock, Ben (Connie) Reynolds, and David (Connie) Immel all of Dover. Completing the family are numerous nieces, nephews and many life-long friends.
Wendy was preceded in death by her father, Eugene “Ike” Reynolds; husband, Ronnie Carpenter, who died on April 14, 2013, and a grandson, Joshua Elliott.
In keeping with Wendy’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care will be conducted through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
The family requests memorial contributions in Wendy’s name be directed to the Wendy Carpenter Memorial Fund c/o PNC Bank, 245 W High Ave, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
