Wavie Smith

Wavie Dianne Smith, 71, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in Union Hospital at Dover.

Born in Shelbyville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Pearl Sloane Smith and had previously worked as a nannie.

Surviving are a daughter and her fiancé, Sherie A. Snell and Curtis Taggart of New Philadelphia; sisters, Cathy Estes of West Palm Beach, Florida and Lynn (Jim) Bryson of Daytona Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Anthony Green, Ashley Green and Allison Green of Gordonsville, Tennessee and Kari Green and Dakota Case of New Philadelphia; and her special friends, Dottie Smith, Austin Short, Nichole Short and Civic Osborn. A brother, Chuck Smith, is deceased.

In keeping with her wishes, Wavie is to be cremated through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory and private family services will be held in Tennessee at a later date.
