Wava E. Locker, 89, Dover, died Friday morning, April 16, 2004, at Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar Wava was born January 10, 1915, in Leesville, Ohio, the only daughter of seven children born to the now late Charles and Phoebe Whann Grimes. She attended Zoarville schools, and married Walter E. Locker on February 29, 1936 in Wheeling, West Virginia. They celebrated 58 years of marriage before his death in 1994.A charter member of the Somerdale Ladies Aid Society, Wava was a vital part of that organization for over 50 years. She was also an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in New Philadelphia. She was dearly loved and will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Joe Murphy of Sherrodsville; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Kay Locker of Bolivar; four grandchildren, Todd (Kelly) Locker and Heather (Jeff) Gates, all of Bolivar, Julie (Jeff) Vega of Sherrodsville, and Matt (Melissa) Cappillo of Zoarville; and six great-grandchildren, Todd, Jr, and Drew Locker, Hayley Gates, Alayna and Miranda Vega, and Brandon Cappillo; and many friends both from her residential neighborhood, and from the Care Centre where she had resided for the past month. Wava was preceded in death by her parents and husband, and by her six brothers.Friends may call at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory Sunday afternoon, April 18, 2004, from 1 to 4 pm. Services will be conducted by Pastor Terry Kidd at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 19, 2004 in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel. Wava will be buried next to her husband at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens following the service.
