Wanda Stephina Barnish

Wanda Stephina Barnish, 92, of Canton and formerly of New Philadelphia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 12, 2006 in St. Luke Lutheran Home for the Aging in North Canton.A daughter of the late Anthony and Frances (Duda) Barnish, Wanda was born June 19, 1914 in Banock, Ohio.She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion and she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens. Wanda was also a member of the Women of Wisdom Bible Study Group at the Faith Family Church in Canton.She was a devoted mother and grandmother and her family will remember her as an extremely strong woman who was self-made.She is survived by her daughter, Florence “Sharleen” (Mari) Cotopolis and her husband, William of Canton; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.Family and friends may call in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, October 14, 2006 from 10 to 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Pastor Demetrios Mittas officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia
