Wanda Rose Daley, 91, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2014 at her home.
A daughter of the late Oliver L. and Sylvia E. (McMerell) Fanti, Wanda was born October 4, 1922 at New Philadelphia, Ohio.
Wanda graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1941. On July 3, 1941, Wanda married her late husband, Dewey L. “Duke” Daley, in Sacred Heart Church, where she was a member. She retired from the former Snyder Manufacturing.
She is survived by her sons, Dewey D. (Sandra) Daley of Dover and Stephen Daley of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Anthony Daley of New Philadelphia, Debora (Sam) Davis of Dundee and Timothy Daley of Scottsdale, Arizona; a great granddaughter, Megan Daley; two sisters, Joan Miller of New Philadelphia and Rhea Crowe of Mineral City and a childhood friend and a former co-worker, Elizabeth “Libby” Zurcher of New Philadelphia.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dewey L. Daley; an infant daughter, Linda Lou Daley and two brothers, Glenn and Dean Fanti.
Memorial visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home Wednesday, October 8 from 11 to 12:45 p.m. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday beginning at 1 pm in Sacred Heart Church. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Friends are invited to St. Ambrose Hall following the committal service where a meal will be shared.
