Wanda L. Shahan

Wanda L. Shahan, age 65, died late Saturday evening, May 28, 2005, in Morning View Care Center at New Philadelphia. Born at Sherrodsville, July 17, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Gladys McCartney Fish.Wanda was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed collecting replicas of Lighthouses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald M. Shahan, on April 18, 1989. Survivors include her two sons and a daughter; Everett (Christina) Shahan and Gilbert R. Shahan and his girlfriend, Terri Workman, all of Dover and Twila (Bob) Reynolds of New Philadelphia.She’ll be sadly missed by three grandchildren; Kimberly Bollinger, and Cory and Justin Schlabach, a great-grandson; Jordan Bollinger, and a sister, Erma Fish Thomas of Sherrodsville, Ohio, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Shahan was preceded in death by three brothers; Allan, William, and Gerald Fish and her step-mother, Helen Avon-Fish.The Reverend Henry E. Mooney will lead a funeral service Wednesday morning, June 1, 2005 at 10:30 in the Chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where friends are invited to call from 9:30 until the start of the service. Burial will follow at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, family and friends are invited to a reception given in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wanda Shahan memorial fund at any Charter One Bank in the area.
