Wanda L. Bertoline

Wanda L. Bertoline, 82, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully, early Wednesday, January 15, 2025, while in the care of Shady Lawn Rehabilitation Center at Dalton, Ohio.  

Born in Union Hospital at Dover on August 28, 1942, Wanda was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Alice Patterson Menges. She attended New Philadelphia High School and on June 28, 1959, married Franklin Bertoline. Together the couple had one daughter and shared in 36 years of marriage prior to his passing on July 7, 1995. 

For many years, Wanda was employed by the former K.B. Toys at New Towne Mall. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling with her daughter, Connie, and competed in a National Bowling tournament held in Reno, Nevada. Additionally, Wanda enjoyed attending Country music concerts and was a lifelong fan of Elvis, having made numerous trips to Graceland. Recently she enjoyed the company of friends in the Happy Hats group as they gathered for lunch or held special outings. 

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Bertoline of New Philadelphia; her sister, Gladys Kerns of Dover and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Menges and George Menges. 

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 2 PM in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.
