Walter Ray Hanner, Jr. age 82, of Cleveland, and formerly of Dover, and Strasburg, died Sunday afternoon, February 11, 2007 following an extended illness. Born at Canton, July 11, 1924, he was one of four children reared by the late Walter R. Hanner Sr. and Margaret Leora Kemp Hanner. Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer (husband Mark) Fenderbosch of Avon Lake, Ohio, and two sons, John (wife Pearl) Hanner of Gnadenhutten, and Master Chief Musician David Hanner (wife Hypatia) of the United States Naval Band at Annapolis, Maryland; grandchildren Brian (Anne) Hanner of Dover, Trooper Stephanie Hanner of Delaware, Ohio, Paul Hanner of Gnadenhutten, Monica and Glenn Hanner of Arnold, Maryland, and Emily and Andrew Fenderbosch of Avon Lake, Ohio. A brother, Thomas (wife Carol) Hanner of Dunwoody, Georgia also survives. In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Anne Hanner Grate and brother, Willard Kemp Hanner, Sr. Private services will be held later this week in Fairmount Presbyterian Church at Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
