Walter Cleon Davie

Walter Cleon Davie, 90, of Navarre, died December 21, 2006, in Country Lawn Nursing Home at Navarre, Ohio.A son of the late Frederick and Loudelle Bosart Davie, Walter was born on Christmas day, 1915, in Byhalia, Ohio. He married the late Ellen P. Davie on August 17, 1957. Walter entered the U.S. Army on October 15, 1940, and served until September 29, 1945. He also served in the U.S. Air Force from January 3, 1951 until September 8, 1953. Walter retired from Belden Brick in Strasburg, Ohio after 40 years of service. In addition to his parents and wife, Walter was preceded in death by great-grandson, Joseph A. Lanzer , two sisters, and three brothers.Walter is survived by his daughters, Laura (George) Hershberger of Beach City, Sandra (John) Rothacher of Dover; grandchildren, Laura (fiancé Matt Frame) Chidester of Uhrichsville, Jamie (Charlie) Lanzer of Uhrichsville, Kelly (Elliot) Metz of Dover, Yvonne (Dennis) Pearson of San Jacinto, California, Crystal (Brian) Sheneman of Dover, John (Tina) Rothacher of Navarre, Janette (Jason) Groff of Navarre, Kelly (Steven) Crews of Massillon, Mark (Rebecca) Pethtel of Dundee; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Sherman of Fredrickstown; and many step children, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.Friends are invited to call Friday, December 22, 2006, from 4:00 � 7:00 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Sr. Francis Wood will lead the Davie funeral on Saturday, December, 23, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Interment will be in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover with military honors conducted by the Dover V.F.W. Post # 3463.The family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
