Walter A. Miller, 83, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday morning July, 23, 2005, at Amberwood Manor.A son of the late Clarence and Ella Herman Miller, Walter was born April 30, 1922, in Fresno, O.He was a WWII Army veteran having served in the South Pacific Theatre and was retired as a Saw Operator from the former Brown Saw Mill in Iseleta, O. Walter was Lutheran by faith. He enjoyed gardening and especially growing strawberries.He is survived by his wife, Mildred Dinger, of Dover; sisters, Ruth (John) Hixson, of Resaca, Ga. And Kathryn (Elmer) Syler, of New Philadelphia; a brother, Bob (Jean) Miller, of Coshocton; and several nieces and nephews.Walter was preceded in death by his father and mother, his first wife Sarella, his second wife, Pearl and a brother, Francis.Visitation will be Monday, July 25, 2005, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. Services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel. Burial will be at Coshocton Memory Gardens with military honors provided by the New Philadelphia VFW.A reception will be held at the Geib Family Center following the service in the funeral home chapel.Memorial contributions in Walter’s memory are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4815 Munson St. NW Canton, OH 44718
