——————————————————————————–Vivian L. Morris McHale, age 85, of Pompano Beach, Florida, and formerly of New Philadelphia and Canton, died March 29th, 2008 following a long illness. Born at Canton, Ohio, September 8, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Llewelyn and Edna Hose Morris. Vivian and attended the Canton Public Schools and McKinley High School. She and her family moved to Dover Ohio in her senior year where she graduated form Dover High School in 1940. In 1943, Vivian graduated from The St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing at Dayton Ohio. After earning her RN, she returned to the Canton area. She was an Industrial nurse at the New Philadelphia General Electric Plant and later in Canton at Hercules Motors. Vivian married Robert B. McHale in 1945. Upon his discharge from the Army Air Corps, the couple returned to Canton where Vivian worked for E W Bliss (which later became Babcock and Wilcox) as an Occupational Health Nurse. She retired from that facility after 31 years of service.After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed their homes at Atwood Lake, Ohio and Pompano Beach, Florida. Vivian was a member of Stark area Association of Occupational Health Nurses, The Order of the Eastern Star, Orange Lodge at Leesville, Ohio, and the New Philadelphia Lady Elks Auxiliary.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael W. McHale and Carol Swonger McHale of Vermillion, Ohio; her daughter Marianne McHale Ramey of Sunrise, Florida; a brother Llewellyn A. Morris, Jr. of Canton; and two sisters-in-law, Edna Hicks Morris of Canton and Rosemary Mc Hale Houf of Chillicothe, Ohio. Five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren complete the family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband Robert B McHale, and brothers William and Thomas Morris. A memorial reception will be held in the Ocean Monarch Condominium at Pompano Beach, Florida, Saturday, April 5th from 6pm to 8 pm. A Memorial Service will be held and Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia, Ohio, Saturday, April 19th, 2008 at 4 PM. A reception will follow the service in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.
