Vivian L. Henning, 89, of Country Club Retirement Campus at Dover, died Sunday, May 18, 2014 following a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late John and Josephine (Mutch) Marino, Vivian was born January 16, 1925 at Buffalo, New York.
Over the years Vivian was employed as an office assistant at R.M. Henning, Inc and Hydraulic Parts Store, Inc. and was a nurse practitioner at Belknap Chiropractic Center. She was also an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene at New Philadelphia. Most of all she cherished spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and having dinner with her family.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Brenda) Henning Sr. and John (Kristin) Henning both of New Philadelphia and David (Carole) Henning of Mountain View, California; her grandchildren, Stephanie (John) Carpenter and Robert (Lori) Henning Jr. both of New Philadelphia, Rianne (Nathan) Gould and Meagan (Randy) Pattenaude both of Mooresville, North Carolina, John (Suzie) McNelly of Lubbock, Texas, John (Caren) McCormack of San Francisco, California Joel (Tia) McNelly of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jessica (Evan) Derr of Centerville, Ohio and Emily (James) Mummert of Hampton, Virginia; her great grandchildren, Claire and Ty Carpenter, Nicholas and Vincent Henning, Bryson and Noah Derr, Marshall Mummert, Ethan, Addison and Jackson Gould, Phoenix and Maverick Pattenaude, Caroline and Emma McCormack and Calvin, Cade, Carley, Mia and Sarah McNelly and many nieces and nephews.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Adelbert Henning; a grandson, Jeffrey Henning; a great grandson, Harrison Mummert and two sisters, Carol Menditto and Evelyn Rexford.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Vivian’s life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Jason Caddy officiating. Burial will follow in East Ripley Cemetery at Ripley, New York.
