Virginia Marie West

Virginia Marie West, age 61, of Schoenbrunn Health Care Center, passed away unexpectedly August 27, 2009.Born March 28, 1948, in Clay Township, she was the daughter of the late Herman R. and Frances B. Griffith West. Virginia attended the Starlight School and Workshop, and until recently, resided at Colonial Manor. She leaves behind her loving family that includes aunts; Joan (husband, Robert) Jarvis of Gauthier, Mississippi, Alice Long of Gnadenhutten, Cilta Griffith of New Philadelphia, and Ethel Nelson of Uhrichsville, uncles; Homer West of Gnadenhutten, and Tracey West of Uhrichsville. Many cousins complete the family. In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by an infant brother; Ralph Wesley West, an aunt; Barbara McKeown, uncles; Paul Griffith, Ray Griffith, Harold Griffith, aunt; Helen Streeter, and uncle; Harold West. A foster-uncle; Chester Ankrom is also deceased.The family will receive friends Monday morning, August 31, from 10 until 11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Gregg Kelly will lead the West funeral service Monday at 11 AM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park.
