Virginia Louise Baird Burkholder nee Enold, 78, of New Philadelphia, died November 28, 2006, in Union Hospital at Dover.Virginia was born on August 3, 1928 in New Philadelphia to the late Edward and Dorothy Enold. In 1946, Virginia graduated from New Philadelphia High School and attended Kent State University. On August 19, 1950, Virginia married Dean Baird and they together owned Bairds Antiques in New Philadelphia. Virginia was the founder of the Tuscarawas County Antique Association. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Tuscarawas County Republican Women’s Club, Republican Executive Committee, Chairman of the New Philadelphia Bicentennial Committee, past President of West Elementary PTA, past President of Alpha Phi Sigma, and former member of Little Theater. Virginia served two terms as a New Philadelphia City councilman at large. Virginia enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching and most of all her family was first.In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husbands, Dean W. Baird and Harry F. Burkholder, grandson, Taylor Baird.She is survived by her sons; Steve (Stephanie) Baird of New Philadelphia, Thad (Mary) Baird of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, David (Lisa Kinsey) Baird of Dover; step-daughter, Vickie (David) Duff of Toms River, New Jersey; grandchildren, Matt (LauraLee) Baird of New Philadelphia, Marlee Richardson of Richmond, Virginia, Jake Baird of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, Dylan Kinsey of Dover, Olivia Kinsey of Dover, Gavin (Shannon) Duff of California, Amanda (Peter) Rossi of Trenton, New Jersey; four great grandchildren; and dog Riley a Cairn Terrier.Friends are invited to call Friday, December 1, 2006, from 10:00-11:00 am in the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home Chapel.The Rev. Dr. Steven Bailey will lead the Burkholder funeral Friday morning, at 11:00 am in the chapel.Following the funeral, a reception will be given for family and friends in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas
