Virginia Ann Garabrandt, age 65, of Dover died Monday, July 19, 2010, in Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.A daughter of the late Earl L. and Helen (Cary) Clouse, Virginia was born in Twin City Hospital at Dennison on June 20, 1945.She was a 1963 graduate of Lakeland High School, and had continued to remain close to a number of friends from her school days. Virginia enjoyed attending class reunions and catching up with those she had lost contact with through the years.Known as Ginny or Ginger to many members of her family and friends, she worked for nearly a decade as an employee of Kent Latex at Winesburg prior to “retiring” to take on the job of caring for her family.Ginny had a great passion and love for her family and was known for the love she put into her cooking and baking. She was especially appreciated for her ability to provide her family with homemade noodles during special occasions.In her spare time Ginny enjoyed working crossword puzzles, cheering for the Cleveland sports teams and using the computer for Social Networking. She enjoyed the companionship of her dogs, which were a vital part of her life.Additionally, Ginny was a member and officer of The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and took great pride in her heritage.Ginny leaves behind her soul mate and husband of twenty-three years, Stanley A. Garabrandt, Sr. whom she married on August 1, 1986; three children, Mark (Cindi) Seevers of Midvale, Denise (Ivan) Wengerd of Strasburg, and Kari Ann Schawb of New Philadelphia; a brother, James F. Clouse of Key Largo, Florida; and two sisters-in-law, Sarah Clouse of Port Towsend, Washington, and Joanne Clouse of Uhrichsville.Twelve grandchildren, one great-grandson; a god-daughter, Kay Grimm and her sons, Joe and Ike; lifelong friends, Jayne and Joe Grimm and Jack and Mary Ann Bailey as well as numerous special nieces and nephews will greatly miss Ginny’s companionship.In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by siblings, Earl L. Clouse, Jr., Betty J. Clouse-Howd, Alpha E. Clouse, Robert J. Clouse, and Judith D. Stout.The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 22, 2010, from 6:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Jim Mason will lead a service celebrating Ginny’s life in the funeral home’s chapel on Friday, July 23, 2010, at 10:30 AM. Burial in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens will follow. Following services, the family will share a meal and fellowship in Newpointe Community Church, 3950 State Route 39, Dover, Ohio 44622.The family requests that memorial contributions in Ginny’s name be directed to Community Hospice, 201 W Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622.
