Virginia G. Brick, 91 of Country Club Retirement Campus, died Friday, November 2, 2007.Born on March 4, 1916 at New Philadelphia, Ohio, Virginia was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Ellen (Harris) Lorenz.A New Philadelphia High School graduate, Virginia married Vernon E. Brick on September 4, 1937. Virginia spent the majority of her life as a homemaker and would also assist Vernon with his business, Brick Blacksmith & Welding. Virginia was a member of the First United Church of Christ at New Philadelphia and was also a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening and reading and had a love for dogs.She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Lowell) Urfer of Newcomerstown; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Brick of Chardon, Ohio; four grandchildren, Edward (Julie) Brick, Jr of Geneva, Ohio, Timothy (Christine) Brick of Westlake, Ohio, Douglas (Karen) Urfer of New Philadelphia, Jessica Jones of Dallas, North Carolina and Annette (Phillip) Dauscher of Vermont; eight great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Nellie Sherrets of New Philadelphia.Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vernon, who passed away on May 18, 1987, a son Edward Brick and a brother Walter Lorenz.Family and friends may call on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Virginia’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home’s chapel with Pastors Jeffrey Gerber and Jill Lovett officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center.Those unable to attend may send personal condolences to the family and sign the online registry by visiting the funeral home’s website.
