Virginia Alene Vaughn Pickering

Virginia “Jeanie” Alene Vaughn Pickering, 66, of Cambridge, died March 11, 2007 in the James Cancer Center at Columbus, Ohio with her family by her side.A daughter of the late Courtney and Vella Young Vaughn, Jeanie was born on September 30, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1958, Jeanie graduated from Stone Creek High School. Jeanie loved antiques and was a collector and dealer for many years. She owned and operated the Spinning Wheel in New Philadelphia, Kountry Korner in Sugarcreek, and Classique Capilla in Cambridge. Jeanie was a member of the Beckett Avenue United Methodist Church in Cambridge.She is survived by her husband, Richard C. Pickering whom she married August 18, 1995; children, Christine Kaye Street of Delaware, Robert “Reb” Eugene (Denise) Billman of Newcomerstown, Randy Lee (Valotta) Billman of Port Washington; step-children, Kathy Saunders of Canal Winchester, Richie C. Pickering Jr. of Urbana, Ohio; grandchildren, Melissa Courtney Street of Mt. Vernon, Derik J. Billman of Newcomerstown, Denelle N. Billman of Newcomerstown, NiTosha Marie Billman of Dover, Luke Anthony Billman of Dover, Ashton B. Stutler of Port Washington, and Tyler B. Stutler of Port Washington; step-grandchildren, Rachel Pickering, Andrew Pickering, Timmy Saunders, Tyler Saunders, and Triston Saunders, sister, Shirley A. Kidd of Norwich, Ohio; brother, Robert (Carolyn) Vaughn of New Philadelphia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pastor Randy Mercer will lead the funeral on Thursday, March 15, 2007, at 12:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
