Viola K. Mizer, 89, of Canton, formerly of New Philadelphia, died Sunday morning, July 4, 2004, in Canton.A daughter of the now late Joseph and Virginia Zucal Dolzine, she was born in Roswell, OH, on June 16, 1915.A homemaker, Viola was devoted to her husband, Irvin J. Mizer, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage before his death, and to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia.She is survived by her daughter, Karen E. Monaco of Hudson; sons, Larry K. Mizer of Canton, Wayne J. (Rose) Mizer of Elbert, CO, and Gale B. Mizer of New Philadelphia; brother, Julius (Feula) Dolzine of New Philadelphia; sister-in-law, Blanche Dolzine of West Palm Beach, FL; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.Her parents, her husband, two sons, Donald and Jimmy, and a brother, Albert Dolzine, preceded her in death.Visitation will be Wednesday, July 7, 2004 from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. Prayers will begin at 10:00 am at the funeral home, and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Msgr. George J. Schlegel at Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia, beginning at 10:30 am. Viola will be buried next to her husband at Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Following the committal, a reception will be held at St. Ambrose Hall, adjacent to Sacred Heart Church.
