Viola Assunda (Fragasse) DiGenova, 89, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully Friday, January 14, 2005 at her home.A daughter of the late Pasquale and Elizabeth (Antonelli) Fragasse, Viola was born July 3, 1915 in New Philadelphia.She was a 1934 graduate of Dover High School and a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia.Viola was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished her family.She is survived by three daughters, Rita (Terry) Hamrick of New Philadelphia, SuAnn (Andrew) Duda of West Lafayette and Jean (David) Moreland of New Philadelphia; one son, Joseph (Vonie) DiGenova of Delaware, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, Anita Hamrick Edwards, Lori Hamrick Bean, Amy Spencer, Elizabeth Commiskey, Bridgette Menapace, Joseph Duda, Thomas DiGenova, Tracy Feinberg, Tim DiGenova, Amber Wood and David Moreland; 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Henry (Delores) Fragasse of Dover and Orlando “Peaches” Fragasse of New Philadelphia.Viola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph L. DiGenova, who died March 13, 1974; three sisters and six brothers.Visitation will be Sunday, January 16, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory with a Christian Wake service being held at 8:45p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, January 17, 2005 at 10:30a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia with Monsignor George Schlegel officiating.
