Vincent Hilderbrand

Vincent Edward Hilderbrand, 47, of New Philadelphia passed away in the Community Hospice Truman House on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
Born in Toronto, Ohio on August 9, 1969, he was the son of Everett V. Hilderbrand of Dover and the late Barbara Patricia (Comer) Hilderbrand, who passed away November 28, 2012.

Vince graduated from Stanton High School in 1987, and continued his formal education at West Side Institute of Technology in Cleveland, where he graduated top of his class as a Stationary Steam Engineer 3rd Class.

His professional career spanned from 1991 through 2012, serving as an operating engineer at the Dover Light Plant. Vince was also a member of both the Dover Moose and Eagles.

On March 24, 2010, he married his best friend, the former Kathy D. Minnis, who has remained by his side through the joys and difficulties of life. In addition to Kathy, he will be deeply missed by his dogs, Abby, Lilly, and Pepper; his mother-in-law, Alice Minnis of New Philadelphia; and many extended family members.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover, on Friday April 21, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM. A service celebrating Vince’s life will be held Saturday April 22, 2017 at 4 PM in the funeral home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Friends are invited to the Geib hospitality room following the service to continue in fellowship and share in a meal.
