Vincent “Jim” Fischio, 87, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, July 9, 2020 in Truman Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.
A son of the late Sabatino and Angelina (Marchione) Fischio, Vincent was born June 28, 1933 at New Philadelphia, Ohio.
Vince served four years in the United States Navy before retiring from Greer Steel.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret “Peg” (Zengler) Fischio; his sons, Michael (Debra) Fischio and John Fischio; his daughters, Christine Sprague, Lori (Chopper) Phillips and Susan (Jim) Hatcher; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two sisters, Erma Frew and Helen Sacherman.
Vince was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Amico, Josephine, Clara, Pasquale, Mary and Frank and son-in-law, Robert Sprague.
There will be no calling hours and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
